|Tomcat || |
Tomcat has to be installed before Datamata SQL Portal can be deployed.
If Tomcat is already installed, go directly to Step 3.
If Tomcat is not available on the computer, then the all 3 following steps will have to be completed:
Step 1: Installing Java
J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) 1.3 and above is required to run Tomcat and Datamata SQL Portal.
Note: JRE only (Java Runtime Environment) is insufficient and the entire SDK (Standard Development Kit) must be installed.
J2SE is available free of charge at the link below.
When on download page select "Download J2SE v 1.4.XXX" and "SDK" for your operating system.
Download: Latest version of J2SE
Step 2: Installing Tomcat
Tomcat version 3.3 and above is required to run Datamata SQL Portal.
Tomcat is available free of charge at the link below.
Please, Download and Install "Tomcat 4.*.*" from the Following Page:
Jakarta Project Binary Downloads
For Windows platform *.exe file with automatic installer is recommended.
Step 3: Deploying Datamata SQL Portal Download or open ZIP file from the download link.
Extract datamata.war into "TOMCAT_ROOT/webapps/" directory. TOMCAT_ROOT is the directory root where Tomcat application server is installed.
If this is a Datamata SQL Portal upgrade, then delete the existing "datamata" directory in the "TOMCAT_ROOT/webapps/datamata/" path and restart the server.
Datamata SQL Portal application can be accessed at the usual Tomcat URL appended with path "/datamata/".
For Example: For locally installed Tomcat the usual URL would be "http://localhost:8080/datamata/" or "http://localhost/datamata/".
